Welcome to my Blog

Welcome to my official blog. If you're looking for something in particular, you might want to type keywords into the search feature on the left-hand side of the page. And I've added a BLOG INDEX on its own page (a bit more complete than the one below) to make it easier. Poking around is also encouraged.

And please do leave comments! Don't be confused by the "author" field in the comment form. When you are writing a message to me and my readers, you are the author. (Nice role reversal, huh?)

Cover Reveals: The Backlist Gets a Big Makeover

My wonderful agency and I took a look back recently. When we first put out our own independent ebook editions of my backlist novels Funerals for Horses, Electric God, and Walter's Purple Heart, we didn't really know what to expect. We didn't know how much interest there would be for these titles. Plus, I was working on a shoestring.

The titles are doing quite well, I'm happy to say, due to a great number of wonderful new readers (thank you, wonderful new readers!) who are going through the full body of my work.

We all agreed it was time to give these ebooks a makeover. Help them stand right up there with my newer titles.

So here are the wonderful new covers. If you haven't read the backlist, maybe this is a great time to start. The ebook editions are affordable at only $2.99. And they will give you something to read while you are waiting for my two brand new novels to come out this year.

Hope you like the new look!

Oh, Catherine - what Gorgeous covers! & they reflect the stories within SO perfectly! kudos to you & your agency for coming up w/this to encourage follow-up on your wonderful books. i couldn't choose a favorite out of all that i've read - each one has a special place in my heart!

Thank you, Rosemary! That means a lot coming from someone who's read them. I worried (a little) that people would say the Electric God one doesn't fit the story. But when I saw the image, I immediately thought of Hayden's little brother Daniel, and his attitude on life, and how the whole story revolves around that/him.

These are wonderful. But I have to beg, will they be also out in hardback or paperback?
I'd love owning both of each of these.

Eve, I stand by my "no more ebook-only" stance. But in the case of the backlist titles, we are not reissuing them in paper. The reason? There are thousands of hardcovers of these titles easily available on the web, and they can be had for very little. Much less than the $14 or so we'd have to charge for a POD trade paperback. So I'm figuring these are available right now in hardcover. They just don't have the cool new cover images.

What wonderful new covers! They get the tone and uplifting content of your writing. The Purple Heart one is especially good at telling us this is about the medal, and it's not a war story.

Thanks, Anne. That's what we were going for--a more human feeling all the way around.

Yep, love the new, fresh covers. Good work. I like it that you tend your backlist the way you'd tend a garden.

Cheers to you,

Sharon

Catherine, These are lovely covers. So glad to hear these earlier, wonderful novels of yours are finding more readers with e book editions. You know how I loved them. :)
