Welcome to my Blog

Welcome to my official blog. If you're looking for something in particular, you might want to type keywords into the search feature on the left-hand side of the page. And I've added a BLOG INDEX on its own page (a bit more complete than the one below) to make it easier. Poking around is also encouraged.

And please do leave comments! Don't be confused by the "author" field in the comment form. When you are writing a message to me and my readers, you are the author. (Nice role reversal, huh?)

The Other Don't Let Me Go

Not sure how many of you know this, but the fabulous author J.H. Trumble has, by pure coincidence, also written a novel called Don't Let Me Go. It's very different from my Don't Let Me Go. But it's a great LGBT-based story for teens [I stand corrected--Janet tells me it's being released as an adult book, undoubtedly with YA crossover potential] so it's not so different from the things I write. Just different from my novel of the same name.

I'm posting a photo of Janet reading my Don't Let Me Go, and me reading her Don't Let Me Go...and one of me with both. And she's promised me a photo of her with both novels this weekend, so I'll update this blog with it when I get it (but no pressure, J.H.!).

The other Don't Let Me Go is scheduled for release on December 27th, and can be pre-ordered from Amazon. Hope you'll check it out.

Here's how it looks when you type Don't Let Me Go into the search box on Amazon. Now, is it just me, or is that a thing of beauty?

Aaaah, I love it! And thank you for the kind comments. My DLMG is actually being published as adult, but older teens will enjoy it just as much. I never noticed the drop down on Amazon. Ahahaha. Promised photo coming soon!

I'm sorry. I did not know that! I thought it was YA. It just as well could be, I'm sure it will cross over well.

Kensington's decision. They thought it would appeal to an older audience as well. I'm good with that :)

Or they may not want to take the heat for it being so gritty and real. But no matter. Both audiences will find it.

I was more concerned about the grit (I like that term) than they were, so when my editor told me what they wanted to go adult, I was hugely relieved. He felt like teenagers to whom the book would appeal would find their way to it. And my second book is pretty solidly adult.

Yes, I think teens can be trusted to find their way to an adult book more dependably than vice versa. They know how mature they are. Not all adults know how teen we still are inside.
