Welcome to my Blog

Welcome to my official blog. If you're looking for something in particular, you might want to type keywords into the search feature on the left-hand side of the page. And I've added a BLOG INDEX on its own page (a bit more complete than the one below) to make it easier. Poking around is also encouraged.

And please do leave comments! Don't be confused by the "author" field in the comment form. When you are writing a message to me and my readers, you are the author. (Nice role reversal, huh?)

Pay It Forward Collector's Items

So this morning I was rearranging the bookshelves a bit in my studio. For a happy reason. I have so many language translations now of my books, they don't all fit on the "foreign rights shelf." And I don't just mean Pay It Forward, either. Love in the Present Tense, Chasing Windmills, Second Hand Heart...all are being mailed to me in languages I don't speak. It's lovely.

I tend to archive at least one, hopefully two ARCs (advance reader's copies) of each book. But as I was arranging, I noticed I have many more for Pay It Forward. Many more. More like ten. I guess I thought I was saving them for posterity. Or...I don't know. Something. But they aren't doing the world much good on my shelf.

So. Want a signed advance reader's copy of Pay It Forward? Could be a collector's item one of these days. You never know.

Here's how complicated it is to win one. Leave a comment, telling me you want to win one. At the end of April, I'll choose a name out of the hat and start another contest. If I don't draw your name, keep trying. I'll give away at least six in 2011.

Easy, right?

It seems especially appropriate that I should enter this contest to win a copy of "Pay It Forward" - it was a discussion of the movie, and the idea, among friends on Facebook that prompted me to look to see if you were on FB, "Like" you, and then respond to a post you wrote that led me here! How wonderful it would be to receive the signed ARC of the book! Thank you!

March 28, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterCathy Willoughby

I would love to get a copy!

March 30, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterKhaenke

Catherine,

We here in Chicago are Major Fans of PIF.
I give away PIF bracelets here in my studio. So far clients and guests have received over 150 bracelets from our studio. I and my colleagues live and do business by the philosophy that doing for others first, without the hope of any payback, benefits us all. I personally wear a bracelet 24/7, and it's only removed when I give it to someone!

I'd love to do a fundraiser/attention raiser here in Chicago, and consider starting a PIF stories chapter here.

We would love to have a copy of your book on dispsy here at The Loft to support the cause.

warmest regards,
-Steve

Well, I want every possible edition of this book because my life changed the moment I read the first paragraph and has continued to influence my life and the lives of those around me. BUT, I already have many books, including this one and I would love to see it go to someone who has yet had a chance to be touched by the love of your characters. Perhaps those who have stars upon thars! Good luck all!

Oh My Goodness!!! Tucker Roo and I NEED this to come and live with us SO BADLY!! This book changed the way I live my life and is one of my all time Favorites!! I listened to my audiobook copy of it until it refused to play anymore, and read my copy of the book until it fell apart in my hands, but since all this happened before my beloved Tucker came to live with me, He has only ever heard MY version of the story, so WE NEED THIS!! :)

You know my feelings :)

April 25, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterSkip Middleton

I would be incredibly honored and humbled to recieve a ARC copy of your book "Paying It Forward". Your tender expressive way with words and perception of the souls journey healed me at a time in my life when I was gasping for air after the loss of my parents on the same day. I was raised to "Pay it Forward" in everything I do. Not in those perfect words, but in the life my parents lived and taught us by example. In my grief I forgot how to feed my soul with that which once nourished me. One evening I put together a family movie night, "Paying It Forward" was the featured film. My entire family gathered and together wept beyond measure at the beauty in the message. We all agreed it was time to put down the sorrow and pick back up that which nourished us. Till we draw our last breath we will be "Paying It Forward"...Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reminding me thorough your words that which speaks to my heart and feeds my soul~
