Welcome to my Blog

Welcome to my official blog. If you're looking for something in particular, you might want to type keywords into the search feature on the left-hand side of the page. And I've added a BLOG INDEX on its own page (a bit more complete than the one below) to make it easier. Poking around is also encouraged.

And please do leave comments! Don't be confused by the "author" field in the comment form. When you are writing a message to me and my readers, you are the author. (Nice role reversal, huh?)

Your Word of Mouth Has Value

Most of you know my novel Second Hand Heart has just been released here in the U.S., in both ebook and paperback. And I'd like to make an offer to my U.S. readers, particularly those who have e-readers (such as the Nook or Kindle). I'd like to give you an electronic copy of the book in return for your word of mouth. If, and only if, you enjoy the book, I hope you'll return the favor by spreading the word. Tell a few of your friends who read, review it on your blog, mention it to your book group...or...you tell me.

Just leave a comment, telling me how you'll spread the word if you enjoy the book. Make sure you enter your email address as you fill out the comment form. It won't show publicly. And I'll send you a code for a 100% free download.

If you don't have an e-reader, you can still download it from Smashwords as a file. But this will be more convenient, I think, for those who have electronic readers.

I'll keep this offer open until I go on vacation in the middle of September. Because I really do appreciate the value of your word of mouth. As I always say, without you, I'd be out of a job.

i would hope that you could post a comment about my only book, too. Walking on a Rolling Deck: Life on the Ark. It has its own page.

Thanks!

Well, as I have done in the past with your books, I will mention Second Hand Heart to many patrons of the public library where I work. I can't count how many times a day I am asked for recommendations. I will also use the library's Twitter feed (which I manage) to provide readers with a link for more info on your book. :) :)

I'd live to read your book. It sounds amazing. I'd spread the word with my social networking accounts as well as by word of mouth to my friends and classmates (college English lit classes). I'll also review on goodreads and book seller websites as I do with all the books I love.

I would love to read/review this for you. I will post on my Book blog, twitter, good reads, Amazon, and Library Thing :)

Thanks,

Thank you for this generous offer. I will read your book and share with all my friends - especially those that love to read! I've been spreading the word on Jump Start the World every since I went to your book reading in SLO. You make us think about the world around us ... not just read the story ... but get a glimpse of a view that might be new and different but just as special. If it's anything like what I've read already I know I'll love it.

I love this idea! I teach high school and have started a "teaser" read-aloud program in my technology classes. I would enjoy introducing the kids to your book!Thank you for the opportunity to participate!

I am not sure if I am eligible as I am not in the USA....? However I would love to share more of your wonderful writing with my friends and fans. Am in the process of creating a new website/blog so in the meantime I would post a review on Facebook. With nearly 3000 friends I am sure word will get out!
With love,

I do not have my own blog, but follow many book reviewing blogs and post on them regularly. I also post reviews regularly online on goodreads.com and amazon.com. I also very frequently recommend books to friends by word of mouth. I read the rave reviews the ladies over at chicklitreviews.com did and thought I'd take you up on your offer. Thanks!

Dear Miss Catherine,

I would be honored to read and review your book.

Wish I have already read this one but I haven't. However, with your offer, I could cruise through it much quicker.

I'd post reviews in Goodreads, Facebook, and Twitter...any other place that you have out there...(-:

I'm a voracious reader and love all of your novels that I've read so far!

Please send a copy of your novel or link to download to pianolady (underscore) 62 (at) yahoo (dot) com.

I have an android and an iPad but will probably read via my laptop...any of those formats can be downloaded and opened.

Thank you again for this 'special' offer and I promise to share and spread the word...you are truly an amazing author and your stories are transformative!

Blessings,

Rhonda Rae Baker (-:

I antied up and bought the version from the UK, and have since passed it along. Great read like all of CRH's stories and definitely worth the price of the ride. And getting it as an e-book as well? Coolness...

Hi there! I am always up for a new reading experience. I will post the review on my blog, Amazon, Goodreads, FB, and Twitter. Any additional ones you would like as well if you let me know. :)

September 7, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterKendra

I would love to read Second Hand Heart on my Kindle! It comes highly recommended by my friend Julie Kibler from the What Women Write group blog, so now I'm quite eager to read it. I'm in the midst of a book launch, so I'm very active on Facebook, Twitter, and a variety of blogs, and I'm a staunch and very vocal advocate of the books I really enjoy.

Best of luck to you, and thanks for running this campaign!
