Always Giving Stuff Away

Here we go again. I'm guessing this will not be getting tedious for my readers, as, if I'm going to keep repeating myself, the repetition should be something along the lines of, "I've got more free stuff for you."
The US ebook of my novel SECOND HAND HEART just went on a 5-day free promotion. (Sorry UK readers, UK editions belong to Transworld/Random House Group--love them, but can't give their stuff away.)
If you're in the US, just go get one. Easy. And everyone who wants one can have one.
But while we're at it, I want to do another $25 Amazon gift card giveaway for reviewers. This is fairly simple as well. Grab a free copy of the book (no actual cash purchase necessary), read it, and leave your honest thoughts on Amazon. Then come back to this blog and leave a comment telling me you did. That way I'll know you want to be part of the contest, and I'll have your email address if you win. I'll choose a winner at random (not based on what you say about the book--say what feels true).
That's it.
If you don't have an ereader, you can download free Kindle software on the Amazon page. If you have a Nook, or other non-Kindle ereader, click here for instructions on how to convert the downloaded file.
Will choose a winner at the end of the month. Good luck, and thanks for being up for this kind of fun. Hell, thanks for being my readers in the first place. It all starts there. Have I mentioned recently that I appreciate you? Without you, I'd be out of a job.

Aaaaand the winner is...Robin Andrea. Just emailed you, Robin. Thanks so much to all who wrote reviews and got in on this giveaway.

I wrote an Amazon review of this truly touching and compelling book. My mother, sister, and I were all reading it at the same time and called each other over and over, just to register how our own hearts were responding to the tale. It was quite a moving story for me, as the grand-daughter of a woman who lost most of her family in Auschwitz and as a hiker who has walked some of Whitney portal and left stones on graves at Manzanar, I was struck by the beauty and sadness of the connections.
I loved this book, and I love how you see the world.
Robin, I just love your review. So happy you enjoyed the book and so happy you found your way back to my blog. Consider your name the first "in the hat" for this giveaway.
I downloaded your book on Amazon a few days ago and began reading it this weekend. I was so touched by the writing that I looked you up to tell you how wonderful I thought your book was. Like Robin Andrea, I am the granddaughter of Holocaust survivors. I was very worried about reading Esther's story because I thought, I have been weeping over these stories since I was a young girl... can I take any more? But your beautiful handling of Esther as a character was perfect, and makes me miss her terribly now that I have finished reading. What a wonderful relationship between Vida and Esther - it makes me yearn for my grandmother. I left a review on Amazon as well; what a wonderful read. I can't wait to read more of your books.
Jeannette, I just noticed and read your Amazon review. I was so pleased to see it, and even more so to see you show up here on the blog. The only reason I am not the granddaughter of a Holocaust survivor is because my grandmother emigrated to the United States around the time of the first world war. I grew up knowing that it was only geography that saved half of my ancestors. So it cuts close to home for me as well. I'm glad you felt something other than dragged down by the handling of that history. Consider yourself "in the hat" for the gift card, and thanks again for your thoughts.
Catherine, I figured you must have some sort of family experience - your novel is too true for any other explanation. Thank you for your reply and your graciousness, and for writing things that show the world in such a unique light. It makes me, and others, I am sure, imagine the possibilities if we took such viewpoints to heart! Take care, and I'll be reviewing your other work on Amazon as I get through it.
Catherine, I have posted a review on Amazon.com for Second Hand Heart. If I should happen to win the gift card, please give it it your local school or community library.
Thank you for helping spread awareness for organ donation. My family has been on the state donor list for years, including my children. It truly is the last gift you can give.
Thank you, my friend!

Thanks, Rockermom! If you win, I'll contact you and tell you where I donated the card.
I really did come to your site here just to say thank you for your books. Just read both When I Found You and Secondhand Heart and am SO thrilled to find a new favorite author. Your sentiments and your craft... just perfect. Cannot say how wonderful both books are, and I look forward to reading my way through your oeuvre. Somehow, I think I will be a better person because of your books. (God, this is as sappy as my Amazon review... sorry!) Thank you for being, well, you.
Hi, Kate. Loved your review and your comment here, both. Look forward to hearing from you again, and happy to throw your name in the hat for the contest. Thanks!
