Welcome to my Blog

Welcome to my official blog. If you're looking for something in particular, you might want to type keywords into the search feature on the left-hand side of the page. And I've added a BLOG INDEX on its own page (a bit more complete than the one below) to make it easier. Poking around is also encouraged.

And please do leave comments! Don't be confused by the "author" field in the comment form. When you are writing a message to me and my readers, you are the author. (Nice role reversal, huh?)

Digital Age Authors E-Publishing Intensive

Live on the Central Coast of California? Open to visiting anytime soon?

On Saturday, July 14th, I'm going to be teaching at the e-publishing intensive Digital Age Authors, put on by Dave Congalton and Charlotte Alexander (the former directors of the Cuesta/Central Coast Writers Conference) and Deborah Bayles. I'll be teaching with my good friend and co-author, publishing industry blogger Anne R. Allen.

This year's conference is actually called How to be a Writer in the E-Age and Keep Your E-Sanity, in honor of Anne's and my new book for authors. The conference will be the official launch of our book. But, just to clarify...the conference is about e-publishing. The book is about all forms of publishing as they rapidly change with technology.

If you're an author who's interested in learning more about the e-book revolution, please join us on the 14th. The price is reasonable. (And includes lunch!) And all the information you need is at THIS LINK.

Hope to see you there!

Thanks for spreading the word. This is going to be an exciting conference!

I'm glad you made the point the book isn't just for ebooks or self-publishers. We have lots of up to date info on how to e-query, what agents want these days and which publishers you can query without an agent.

Thanks, Anne. Yes, I thought it was important that people know that, in our book, we weigh the pros and cons of all the modern publishing avenues, without a heavy slant toward any particular one.

Oh if only I lived on the West Coast, but sadly, I no longer do (otherwise I would have signed up to go already) *grins*

Good LUCK! I can't wait for the book. I definately need it. *grins*

Ah! So there's that comment I thought was missing. Do you have an e-reader, Cathryn? Or Kindle software on your computer? If so, you don't have to wait. The book went live yesterday! Paperback edition to follow shortly. You can find the link to the ebook on the How to be a Writer in the E-Age page.

I have the book, snug on my Kindle. :}

Still want a hard copy to page through... I sort of like having that for my book on wrting and being a writer.

Understood. That's why, even in the e-age, I'm making sure all my books are still available in good old-fashioned paper. You won't have long to wait.
