Welcome to my Blog

Welcome to my official blog. If you're looking for something in particular, you might want to type keywords into the search feature on the left-hand side of the page. And I've added a BLOG INDEX on its own page (a bit more complete than the one below) to make it easier. Poking around is also encouraged.

And please do leave comments! Don't be confused by the "author" field in the comment form. When you are writing a message to me and my readers, you are the author. (Nice role reversal, huh?)

Two Discounts at Once

Hopefully most of you know that my novel When You Were Older (US ebook edition) is only $0.99 right now. This deal will continue through the Thanksgiving weekend, and then it will go back to the regular $4.99.

But starting today, we're also offering the newest of my novels, Where We Belong (also US ebook), as part of the new Amazon Countdown Deal program. It will be only $0.99 today, Wednesday the 27th. Tomorrow, Thanksgiving, it will be $1.99. It will go up a dollar each day until it's back at the regular price. So the sooner you grab it, the deeper the discount.

It's the holidays. So we have extra deals to offer my readers. If you can't get books into people's hands at a great price on the holidays, when can you?

That said, wait till you see what we have in store for Christmas!

As always, please stay tuned. And if you grab one of these books, happy reading!

Great to hear, Laura! Sorry you missed the discount on Where We Belong (or maybe you oicked it up on an earlier price promotion) but there will always be more chances to get these books at a money-saving price. Because my readers deserve that.

Two great books at a steal! Where We Belong is a 2013 Rainbow Award FINALIST! Loved it, Catherine, and we're rooting for you on December 8th. Hugs, Paul and Bob

Today I am thankful for your generosity in sharing your books with others, Catherine.

Thank you also for writing THE LONG, STEEP PATH. I downloaded it yesterday and I have been enjoying reading about your hiking adventures as well as the life lessons you have learned along the way. I am up to the chapter entitled Valencia Peak.

In the summer of '73...just over 40 years ago, I hiked the Grand Canyon. We went about 21 miles in 24 hours...from the south rim to the Phantom Ranch and back. That was long before I knew anything about hiking boots, hiking poles, or even the Grand Canyon itself. IT WAS THE HARDEST (physical) THING I HAVE EVER DONE IN MY LIFE! Every "physically difficult" challenge I have had since that time (including childbirth twice) has gone through the "Grand Canyon Comparison"...and so far, it is STILL...THE HARDEST (physical) THING I HAVE DONE IN MY LIFE!

I look forward to reading the rest of your book. Thank you for having the courage to share your personal thoughts and lessons and giving us a "glimpse" into how you "see" the world. Your "views" are uplifting!

Thanks, Paul! Hope we get to share some honors. And Sue, yes, I did my first two Canyon hikes all in one day (as I guess you know). And I'd be hard-pressed to think of anything more difficult. Plus, I was quite prepared. Still more exertion than one can really prepare for. So glad you're enjoying the essays!

Happy Thanksgiving to you too, Diana (in theory--I know you don't celebrate in Canada). Hope you enjoy the books!

Hi Catherine,
I just wanted to let you know how much I have enjoyed reading your books! I have loved everything I've read so far. I read Walter's Purple Heart yesterday and devoured it! It was a wonderful companion to have on a cold icy day.
Thank you for sharing your talent with us!
