Welcome to my Blog

Welcome to my official blog. If you're looking for something in particular, you might want to type keywords into the search feature on the left-hand side of the page. And I've added a BLOG INDEX on its own page (a bit more complete than the one below) to make it easier. Poking around is also encouraged.

And please do leave comments! Don't be confused by the "author" field in the comment form. When you are writing a message to me and my readers, you are the author. (Nice role reversal, huh?)

More News of When I Found You and Where We Belong

I know some of you are still waiting for that free promotion for the Kindle ebook of my newest novel, Where We Belong. In my last post, I said it would happen in the middle of July.

Yes, the middle of July has come and gone.

The promotion will still happen, but it's been rescheduled for the 18th of August. And for such wonderful reasons!

As I also mentioned in my last post, Amazon Publishing put my Amazon Encore edition of When I Found You on a special $.99 promotion for the whole month of July. It started July 1st. And on July 1st, the ebook jumped up into the Kindle Top 100. And on July 3rd, it jumped into the top 10. And on July 18th, it jumped up to #2, right behind the book J.K. Rowling was just revealed to have written under a pseudonym. And it's been there since.

It's best to space promotions out a bit, so please be patient until the 18th of August, and I'll remind everyone again when the Where We Belong ebook is free. In the meantime, if you haven't read When I Found You, it's still only $.99!

Oh, that's so sweet Ucif! I'd rather be #2 behind J.K. Rowling and #1 with you and my other reader-friends.

I love your writing!! I have now added all of your books to my wish list. Keep the wonderful books coming! You are my favorite author!

Hi Betsy! Are you new to my work? I don't remember hearing from you before. But I'm certainly glad to hear from you now! I'm happy to be your favorite author, and I promise I'm writing as fast as I can!

Oh my gosh!! I can't believe I heard from YOU!!!!! Yes, I am new to your writing. My mom who is 82 years old loves your work also. We have both been reading your books like crazy! I am so glad to hear you are writing as fast as you can!

I will check in often!

Of course, I always answer my readers. So glad I have two new fans, and I look forward to hearing what you think of the new one (though it's okay to wait until August and get it for free).

I loved this book wonderful story. I haven't picked up a book in a while...actually years treasonous that I think of it and when I tried my interest in it died out in the first chapter, but this book your writing writing wow it brought something in me I thought I had lost long ago. That is to enjoy a good story with out watching watching watching it on a movie screen. Thank you.

What a wonderful message Nidia! Thank you! It's not treasonous. Sometimes people get disconnected from reading, and it's usually because the books they're finding just aren't clicking for them, or keeping them engaged. I'm very happy and proud that it was one of my books that got you back into reading. Thanks for letting me know!

Stayed up way too late last night finishing When I Found You. It was worth every minute of the sleep deprivation. I loved the book so much! I read Walk Me Home a couple of months ago, and it was wonderful as well. Anxiously awaiting the promotion for Where We Belong.

Hi, Helen. Thanks for finding my blog! I do spend a lot of time apologizing for my readers' lost sleep (and tears) but I'm glad it was worth it to you. Hope you like Where We Belong just as much.

Catherine, what can I say as I stand in the back of the line of all your fans...? I just "met" you accidentally(?) by stumbling upon When I Found You, then onto Where You Belong ... now you are my new MUST read everything this awesome author wrote or will ever write. The "education" you bring to my soul is priceless, so easily put there by simply enjoying a great book...thank you for sharing your wonderful stories, your gift, to all of us, even those of us standing in the back of the line, that somehow missed out on the beginning.

Welcome! I would have responded sooner, but I was away on a hiking trip. You don't have to go to the back of the line just because you discovered my books recently. Hey, you discovered them! That's what counts. I still don't know your name, so if you read this comment, let me know. People tend to think of me as the "author," but in the comment form, it's you. You are the author of the comment.

I can't tell you how much I love your books. I have purchased them all for my kindle and now plan to purchase them in real book form for my classroom library. My tenth graders will love them also. Thanks for the great pleasure of reading these and getting to know such wonderful characters.

Thanks, Deborah! So glad you enjoyed them, and hope your students will as well. Just wanted to point out that I have five books that are actually intended for that age group: Becoming Chloe, The Year of my Miraculous Reappearance, The Day I Killed James, Diary of a Witness, and Jumpstart the World. Thanks, and hope to hear from you again.
